Monaco WAF: just one race too muchSeptember 10th 2005 - Simon has not been able to continue his suit of succesfull races in Monaco World Athletics Final. After great races in Heusden (8.15, mid-July), 2x Helsinki (World Championships, early August, 8.13 & 8.16, 5th place) and Brussels (end August, European record, 8.04), his shape did not improve further and in fact fell off. Simon felt flat from the very beginning and had to settle for 9th place in an unimpressive 8.23. "I have not been able to fully recover from my very exciting World Championships and especially the European record in Brussles. A lot has happened since that day, and physically as wellas mentally, it was difficult to recharge the batteries again", Simon said. "I am glad my season is over now, and am trully happy with my achievements this year".
Groeten vanuit Montana, USA. |
